BRINGING YOUR INSTRUMENT
BACK TO LIFE.

Man standing outdoors in front of a sign that says 'Woodwind Workshop, Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute Service,' wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and a navy apron.

Where Craft
Meets Music

I started Woodwind Workshop because I wanted to combine two things I’ve always loved: music and working with my hands. After years as a professional saxophonist, I discovered the joy of repairing instruments when I bought a second-hand saxophone in terrible condition. Piece by piece, I restored it back to life — and the feeling of turning something unplayable into something excellent was unforgettable.

That same feeling drives me every time I repair an instrument for a customer. I want every player to pick up their saxophone, clarinet, or flute and feel that the problems they struggled with are gone — replaced with an instrument that plays freely and beautifully again. Seeing the smile when someone realises their instrument has been brought back to life is what makes this work so rewarding.

At Woodwind Workshop, I understand instruments not just as a repairer, but as a musician who has spent years chasing the best possible sound. That experience means I know what your instrument should feel like — and I won’t stop until it does.

Your instrument restored. Your music renewed.

  • I’M A PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN AND AS MY BEAUTIFUL ALTUS FLUTE NEEDED SOME ATTENTION, I GAVE IT TO KEI TO SEE IF HE COULD IDENTIFY THE SMALL PROBLEMS. HE ENDED UP DOING A GREAT GENERAL OVERHAUL. HIS WORK AND CARE WAS EXCELLENT AND I’M SO HAPPY TO HAVE MY FLUTE PLAYING SO WELL AGAIN. I WOULD CERTAINLY RECOMMEND ANYONE WITH A WOODWIND INSTRUMENT TO HAVE KEI DO YOUR REPAIRS.

  • MY FLUTE MEANS SO MUCH TO ME, AND WHILE IT’S NOT THE MOST EXPENSIVE OR TECHNICALLY WONDERFUL INSTRUMENT, IT HAS BEEN SUCH A HUGE PART OF MY LIFE. I HAVEN’T ENTRUSTED IT TO ANYONE TO FIX FOR SO LONG… PARTIALLY DUE TO FINANCES AND PARTIALLY BECAUSE I DIDN’T TRUST ANYONE. THE LATEST ISSUE (WITH THE KEY DROPPING) FORCED ME IN TO ACTION. I CHOSE YOU AS A YOUNG, TALENTED, ARTIST USING YOUR MUSICAL SKILLS TO BRANCH OUT AND SUPPORT YOUR PASSION FOR PERFORMANCE WITH CARING FOR THE INSTRUMENTS THAT GIVE US SUCH JOY. I’M SO GLAD I DID. THANK YOU

  • MY EXPERIENCE WAS AMAZING AS THEY WERE NOT ONLY EXTREMELY TRANSPARENT WITH ME UP FRONT, BUT THEIR PRICE WAS ALSO REASONABLE WITH REPAIRING OUR FLUTE. THEY ARE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND VERY EFFICIENT! I HAD MY FLUTE FIXED OVERNIGHT! I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND COMING HERE AND WE WILL BE COMING BACK WITH ANY OF MY FLUTE NEEDS IN THE FUTURE. THANK YOU!

  • KEI TOOK GREAT CARE WITH SERVICING BOTH OF MY CLARINETS! I AM A CLASSICALLY TRAINED CLARINETTIST, AND THE CLARINETS DESPERATELY NEEDED SERVICING. THERE WAS A LOT OF OXIDISATION AND FROSTING ON THE KEYS, AMONGST OTHER PARTS THAT NEEDED REPLACEMENT ETC. HE ALSO ONLY REPLACED PARTS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED (PARTICULAR PADS AND CORKS). THE CLARINETS CAME BACK LOOKING PRISTINE AND SHINY, AND IMPORTANTLY, THE PLAY TEST WAS SOLID! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND KEI FOR ANY CAREFUL AND NECESSARY CLARINET SERVICES.

  • I WAS INTRODUCED TO KEI THROUGH THE SCHOOL BAND TEACHER’S RECOMMENDATION, AND I FELT CONFIDENT LEAVING THE FLUTE IN HIS CARE. THE WORKSHOP IS CONVENIENTLY CLOSE TO HOME, AND THE FACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS COMPLETED IN JUST ONE DAY MADE EVERYTHING SO EASY. KEI IS FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL, AND HER WORK SHOWS A REAL ATTENTION TO DETAIL. THE PRICING FELT REASONABLE, AND I’D GLADLY RECOMMEND HER TO OTHERS LOOKING FOR RELIABLE FLUTE SERVICING.

ASK A QUESTION & FAQs

Not sure about repairs, pricing, or if I can help with your instrument?
Check the quick answers below — and if you still have a question, just fill out the form and I’ll get back to you shortly.

  • Every instrument is different — some just need a small adjustment, while others require a full service or overhaul. Minor repairs typically range from $40 to $100, while full services can be a few hundred dollars depending on the work required. I’ll always provide an honest quote after assessing your instrument, so you’ll know exactly what to expect before I start any work.

  • Turnaround time depends on the type of repair. Quick fixes can often be done on the day or within a couple of days, while full services or overhauls usually take 1–2 weeks. When I see your instrument, I’ll give you a clear timeframe so you know exactly when it will be ready to play again.

  • I specialise in woodwinds — saxophones, clarinets, and flutes. If you have another instrument, feel free to reach out. If I can’t take it on myself, I’m happy to recommend someone who can.
